Wii Fit is an exercise game created by Nintendo for the Wii. It was released in Japan about a year after the Wii was released, and a few months later for the rest of the world.

Activities

Wii Fit features all kinds of fun activities that focus on developing balance, posture, and fitness.
— Wii Balance Board

Wii Fit has four types of exercises: Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics, and Balance Games. Each one of these focuses on a different area of fitness. All four types are unlocked at the start, although most of the activities in each category must be unlocked by playing all of the unlocked activities [needs verification]. Yoga and Strength Training exercises are done in a workout room, with either the male or female Wii Fit Trainer, while Aerobics and Balance Games are done in various locations around Wuhu Island, without a trainer.

Yoga

Yoga will help you stimulate muscles that aren't used regularly and help increase your body's flexibility.
— Wii Balance Board

Yoga begins with 5 of the 15 exercises unlocked. The female Wii Fit Trainer is shown in the thumbnails, although either trainer may be used.

Aerobics
Activity Description
WF Hula Hoop gameplay screenshot.png
The player is set in a eccentric and vibrant flowery room with two other Miis from the system standing a small distance in front. The object of the game is to rotate the player's hips around in a circle to shift their weight, which spins the Hula-Hoops around. The two Miis positioned in front of the player will throw more Hula-Hoops at the player, which the player can catch by shifting their weight to the side and forward. The score is counted in spins, which is increased per hoop per completed rotation. As the player catches more hoops, their score can increase exponentially. After 60 seconds, the game ends, and the score is posted.
WF Basic Step gameplay screenshot.png
Basic Step (NA) / Step Basics (EU)
This activity is set in a theater. The player stands before a Wii Balance Board on a stage, facing the theater audience, alongside many other random Miis standing similarly. The object of the game is to step on and off the Wii Balance Board in sync with the other Miis. Scrolling diagrams display where the player's feet should be in relation to the Wii Balance Board for each step. Red steps indicate stepping on the board, and blue steps indicate stepping to the side of the board. The player is rated "OK" or "perfect" on each correct step, and the diagram turns yellow. Missed steps cause the diagram to turn gray, but no rating is given. After 164 steps, the game ends, and the score is counted, with "perfect", "good", and "miss" bequeathing 2, 1, and 0 points, respectively.
WF Basic Run Gameplay screenshot.png
Basic Run (NA) / Jogging (EU)
In this activity, the player takes a jog around Wuhu Island. The run begins in a town square by a large sign, and goes through various locations on the island, before returning to the starting place. The run distance can be set to "short", "long", or "island lap". The player must maintain a consistent pace to burn the most calories, and gain the most points. A Mii or small dog runs in front of the player, and serves as a pace reference. Running too fast causes the player to fall over. To run, the player must jog in place while either holding the Wii remote, or putting it in their pocket.
WF Super Hula Hoop gameplay screenshot.png
This activity is very similar to the regular Hula Hoop activity. It is set in the same room, and two Miis still throw Hula Hoops at the player, who must then tilt to catch them while rotating their hips. Unlike the previous Hula Hoop game, this game has two rounds: one rotating right, and one rotating left.
Advanced Step (NA) / Step Plus (EU) This activity is much like Basic Step. The main difference is that the game runs longer and faster, and there are more types of steps added. Along with the red and blue steps from Basic Step, green steps indicate sticking the player's leg out and forward without touching the ground, and purple steps indicate stepping sideways on the board.
2-P Run (NA) / 2P Jogging (EU) This activity is identical to Basic Run, except a second player may run as well. The screen is split vertically to accommodate player 2. The second player's data is not saved.
