The Wii U is a home console made by Nintendo. It is the successor to the Wii, and can play all Wii games through backwards compatibility.
The Wii U sold 13.56 million units worldwide,[1] making it both Nintendo's least successful home console to date after the Nintendo GameCube and a commercial failure. Its successor, the Nintendo Switch, outsold the Wii U's lifetime sales only 9 months after its release.[2]
