Otona no Onna no Uranai Techou (大人のオンナの占い手帳), loosely translating to Fortune-Telling Notebook for Adult Women, was a cancelled Nintendo DS game in development by Nintendo. Even with the game going unreleased, Otona no Onna no Uranai Techou is a rather important prototype in the Mii franchise as the game was the first ever instance of Miis existing, and even though the proper concept of Miis hadn’t been refined yet and the characters were nameless at this point in time, a Mii Maker look-alike was included within the game.

Gameplay

While very little information about this game is available due to it being cancelled, it is known that the game would have been a fortune-telling game and that the players could have had avatars based on themselves put into the game, with this concept being later turned into the Miis and the Mii Channel on the Wii.

Links with project released afterwards

Even if not released, this game is a rather important one in the Mii franchise as the game was the first ever instance of avatars looking like Miis being utilized, with only few softwares predating it and having avatars that did not look like Miis. Even though the proper concept of Miis was not fully developed and the avatars as a collective were not officially named in development, a Mii Maker look-alike was included in the game and the title itself was eventually reworked into Tomodachi Collection.

While not confirmed to be linked to this game, it is important to note that Nintendo, in collaboration with Jamsworks, did eventually release a fortune-telling Nintendo DS game titled DS Uranai Seikatsu.
