The Campground in Tomodachi Life.

The Campground (known as the Campsite in the European release) is a location in Tomodachi Life that allows travelers sent from other islands through StreetPass to stay on the player's island. It is unlocked once the first traveler arrives on the island, or when a grown child is first sent out as a traveler. Travelers can be interacted with and given items while they are in a tent at the campground, much like Miis in apartments can be interacted with. Up to 10 tents can be pitched at the campground, allowing a total of 10 travelers to stay on the island at once.

Staying on the campground

When a traveler first arrives on an island, they will begin visiting its various locations for Miis to hang out, including the fountain, park, observation tower, beach, café, and amusement park, if they have been established. The travelers are visible on the map just like any regular islander is while visiting these locations. When travelers at these locations are greeted, they will ask to camp on the island for the night; saying yes will have them pitch a tent in the campground, while rejecting will cause them to leave for the port. Travelers will continue touring the island until 4:00 pm, whereupon they will retire to their respective tents until the next morning.

While in a tent, travelers can be seen with a specific item corresponding to their personality; easygoing travelers will have a teddy bear, outgoing travelers will have a camera, independent travelers will have a notebook, and confident travelers will have a book. The player can visit each traveler individually to solve any problems they may have and raise their gratitude. When leaving a traveler's tent, the player can let them go to sleep for the night or stay up longer, which allows the player to return for additional visits.

The morning after a traveler stays at the campground, they will take down their tent and leave for the port to continue traveling. If the player addressed their problems sufficiently, there is a chance they will leave a letter along with a box containing a specific treasure in place of their tent as a gift. This treasure can be either a packet of tissues, a copper coin, a silver coin, or a gold coin. Notably, these gifts are the only way to receive the packet of tissues and copper coin treasures in the game.
