Welcome to MiiWiki!

Welcome!
Hello there, Moses Sin, and welcome to MiiWiki, a wiki on all things Mii! Please be sure to read our policies before editing. We also have a Discord server that you can join by clicking here. If you need any help, please contact one of the administrators.

Plagiarism on Wii Play

Regarding your recent edits to Wii Play, they were undone due to them being copy-pasted from Wikipedia. Copy-pasting without attribution is both plagiarism and a copyright violation, and copy-pasting mainspace articles to or from any wiki is a generally bad practice even if it's attributed. ---PinkYoshiFan 17:40, 6 February 2024 (UTC)

FIle Names

Hello. Just want to let you know that this page states that mainspace file names should always begin with an abbreviation of the game they are from. This is especially to help differentiate from different Mii games that use the same concepts. The Jacketed Terrapin (talk) 16:47, 15 February 2024 (UTC)

Reminder to follow the naming standards of images, as you're still not marking the images you're uploading with the respective game abbreviation (e.g. Nintendo Land-related images should always start with "NL" followed by the subject of the image).
Additionally, typo redirects (or any redirect that isn't wanted) should not be left blank, and instead should be marked with the deletion tag (which is {{delete|*insert deletion reason here*}}), just make sure to put the tag before everything on the page. Thanks. The Jacketed Terrapin (talk) 14:30, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

File sourcing

Please do not post mobile versions of YouTube links for your sources. Please ensure that all links go to standard YouTube. This can be done by requesting the desktop view, or pressing Share instead of the URL. Furthermore, YouTube images are generally not within fair use and shouldn't be uploaded unless absolutely no alternative exists. Please do not continue uploading YouTube images further. Trig - 23:13, 29 February 2024 (UTC)

Similar vein here, please make sure your source links are truncated in general. Having tracking data or search text appear (as was the case with recent Nookipedia uploads) is not a good practice. In most circumstances, anything that writes out sentences of text in a URL or seems to have a tracker (stuff after a &) can be erased and the link goes to the same place. Test it if not certain. Trig - 04:07, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
Thirdly, please please please do not use Fandom as a file or text source. Use of these sources for box art or any other content is an active detriment to the site. If you need alternative places to look, please consider The Cover Project, Mobygames, The Gaming Alexandria, Video Games Museum, or in the event of sprites/icons, Video Game Sprites.net and Sprite Database. Please exercise more scrutiny in the uploads you are making overall. YouTube uploads or random website screengrabs are often poor quality and it is preferred to have good looking files over temporary, low quality ones. Trig - 15:01, 19 March 2024 (UTC)

Moved files

Heads-up that when you move files and create a redirect, you should add the {{delete}} template to the redirect instead of just blanking it. ---PinkYoshiFan 14:56, 15 March 2024 (UTC)

Unnecessary file uploads

Heads-up that several of your recent file uploads (in particular the Mario Party 8 minigame icons) have been unnecessary due to being completely outside of the wiki's coverage. Files should only be uploaded if there's a plan to use them somewhere on the wiki, and that should only happen if it's part of a Mii game or a part of a game that covers Miis. (For example, the Mario Party 8 minigame icons are neither because it's not a Mii-focused game and Miis aren't playable in any of those minigames.) ---PinkYoshiFan 18:23, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
