Wii series
The Wii series (the name of the series sometimes changing from game to game, such as in Nintendo Switch Sports) is a collection of simulation and party games released by Nintendo for the gaming console bearing the same name, as well as its successors, the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch.
While most of the games in this series have a lot of differences from one to another, they all share a somewhat simplistic design and all use mostly or entirely Mii-based character casts (apart from Wii Chess, whose inclusion is debatable, and Nintendo Switch Sports, which uses Sportsmates as the primary characters and Miis as a side option).
The Wii series has been used multiple times as a means to bundle and market all sorts of Wii accessories, such as Wii Remotes, Wii Motion Plus, and Wii Balance Boards.

Wii Sports

The Wii Sports series is the largest sub-series out of the Wii series, being composed of 4 games : Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Sports Club and Nintendo Switch Sports. The Wii Sports games are composed of multiple minigames centered around sports, most of them having simplified rules and almost being entirely controlled via motion controls. The series mostly uses Miis as the player's avatar and opponent apart from Nintendo Switch Sports which uses Sportsmates as the primary characters, with the Miis being a side option.

Wii Play

The Wii Play series is composed of 2 games : Wii Play and it's sequel Wii Play Motion. The Wii Play games are composed of multiple minigames without a main theme linking them together, the series being focused on pointing or twisting the Wii Remote. The series uses Miis in almost every minigames.

Wii Fit

The Wii Fit series is the second largest sub-series in the Wii series, being composed of 3 games : Wii Fit, an expended version called Wii Fit Plus, and a proper sequel called Wii Fit U. The Wii Fit games were sold as exercising games, with multiple yoga lessons and fitness exercise being available, yet also had minigames with Miis taking place on multiple location, most famously the Wuhu Island who was called Wii Fit Island at the time. The majority of the games had to be played with the Wii Balance Board.

Wii Party

The Wii Party series is a sub-series composed of 2 games : Wii Party and its sequel Wii Party U. As the name would emply, The Wii Party games are Party games focused on various multiplayer games. The Miis takes here the roles of the player's avatar as well as background characters.

Wii Music
The Wii Music series is composed of only one game, being Wii Music, which does not have a direct sequel or an expanded version. Despite this, the "Spirits" section of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate still considers it a part of a series. Wii Music is a musical game, focusing primarily on arranging existing songs, most of which are in the public domain, by playing them as a Mii, with over 60 instruments being available to play by shaking the Wii Remote or pressing buttons.

Wii | Exclusive to Europe, this is the only game in the Wii series to not feature Miis. In Japan, the game was called "Tsuushin Taikyoku World Chess" and it wasn't a part of the Wii series. |
Reception
The Wii series has achieved remarkable commercial success, with almost every single game selling millions of copies. Notably, as of 2023, Wii Sports is currently the fourth best-selling video game in history and holds the distinction of being the top-selling video game exclusive to a single gaming console, helped by being a pack-in game at the launch of the Wii.
With the exception of Wii Chess, all titles in the series have been released worldwide, Wii Sports and Wii Play were the first two games of the seventh console generation to surpass 10 million units sold, Wii Sports having sold other 82 million sales, a significant portion of those coming from bundling.

- Nintendo Switch Sports is the first game in the series to:
- Not have Miis as the only playable characters
- Not have "Wii" in the title
- Apart from Wii Music and Wii Chess (the latter one being exclusive to Europe and not being a game of the Wii series in Japan) are the only games in the Wii series to not get a follow-up game.
