The Mii franchise is a software franchise consisting various videogames and applications centering around customizable avatar used on every Nintendo consoles, along with a few mobile apps and DS games, ever since the Wii back in 2006 named "Miis".

While the franchise properly started with the launch title of the Wii titled Wii Sports as its first videogame and the pre-installed Mii Channel on every single Wii as its first application, both being released on the 19th of novemeber 2006, various other applications and games that were either planned to be the start of the very concept of customizable avatar or were reworked into other projects released before wise, such as an untitled avatar creator for the Famicom Disk System, a scrapped Gamecube game titled "Stage Debut" or even one of the game from the Mario Artist series, being Mario Artist: Talent Studio.

The Mii franchise has somewhat blurry limits as to what game and applications should or shouldn't be considered as part of it, as Nintendo has not given a precise list of games and applications that are part of it, only lefting clues in very few areas, such as the game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's spirit and music section, with them utilizing a Mii icon in order to represent various softwares under a proper "Mii" franchise, yet leaving lots of software unclassified, such as the DS game Personal Trainer: Walking, the 3DS game AKB48+Me or the Wii Channel Wii no Ma only to site very few examples of the very high number of software that utilized Miis heavily, even sometimes more than other confirmed games of the franchise yet have not been confirmed to be part of it.

Neither apllications, single games or series of the franchise could be fairly decided to be considered as a "main" software(s) of the franchise, and very few of them references one another, only being linked via the heavy uses of Miis. Amongst those software are the Wii series, itself composed of smaller series, such as the Wii Sports and Wii Fit series, the Tomodachi series, Nintendo Land, Miitopia, Miitomo, StreetPass Mii Plaza, the Mii Makers themselves, and so on...

Oddly enough, the Swapnote series and the Wii Fit series, despite the first one's main character Nikki being a Mii and the second one being a sub-series of the Wii series, are not considered as part of the franchise in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, while the Pilotwings series whose only game that featured Miis was the third game of the series, Pilotwings Resort, is considered as part of the franchise; due to this, it is important to note that even the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has some ambiguous choices as what is and isn't part of the Mii franchise

The best-selling game in the franchise is currently Wii Sports released for the Wii, selling around 82,900,000 copies worldwide and being the fourth best selling game of all time as of April 2024.
