New Super Mario Bros. U is a 2D side-scrolling platformer in the New Super Mario Bros. series. A DLC pack was later released for it, New Super Luigi U, which had Luigi as player 1 and replaced Mario with Nabbit. It also recieved a port to Nintendo Switch, which added Toadette as a playable character and came with the New Super Luigi U DLC. Miis can be used freely in the Coin Battle, Boost Rush, and Challenge Mode modes, but not the main story (aside from one level in New Super Luigi U)
