Wii Sports Club is a 2013 remake of Wii Sports for the Wii U. It features enhanced high-definition graphics and online multiplayer, and utilizes Wii Remote Plus functionality. It was released initially as a downloadable title on the eShop, and later on received a physical retail version. It features the same 5 sports as Wii Sports: Tennis, Baseball, Bowling, Golf, and Boxing.
The downloadable version of the game is free, however, the sports must be purchased individually. They can be rented for a day for $1, or purchased permanently for $9. Upon release, only Bowling and Tennis were available. Golf was added on December 18th, 2013, and Baseball and Boxing were added on June 26th the same year. The physical edition retailed for $50, and contains all 5 sports without the need to purchase them.
A major difference from Wii Sports is the addition of clubs. Players can join clubs, which represent various regions across the world. Once in a club, players are prevented from joining a new club for 24 hours. Clubs have internal player rankings, as well as external rankings. Withing clubs, players can chat, although only with pre-set messages and drawings. Miiverse connectivity is also supported.
